Here is the Family Guy parody of his "Above the Influence" Ads.
LOL.
Here is his original ad.

He really made those ads? I thought he did awesome work, but anyone who made those ad's must be a douche of epic proportions. Souther, you disappoint me!

To judge Souther as a douche for doing the animation for those ads is lame. If you had ever met Souther or knew the guy very well, you would know how incredibly far from the truth that statement is.
Souther is one of the most stand up guys I've ever met in my life.

i don't understand what's offensive about souther's ad. i don't think he did the family guy version (if that's what you find offensive)

Nice guy or not, and I do not doubt that he is nice, what I find douchy is his participation in anti marijuana ad. Especially one that paints its users the way his does.

So you are claiming this as "his" commercial now? Do you think that he came up with the idea, bought the ad time and is pushing his own agenda?
Maybe the truth is that someone hired him to animate some story boards for something that was already set up and arranged. Sometimes people need to get paid and something like this falls on their lap. There are a ton of other artists that I'm sure wish they could go back and not take certain jobs they may have taken in the past. It's easy to sit back on the internet and call someone a douche bag, but I think it makes one more of a douche bag themselves to call someone out on something like this when they themselves don't have all the facts together and are really just making things up.
Souther isn't just nice as you stated, he is a stand up guy with his head in the right place.
I don't agree with the content of the commercials either, but I'm certainly not laying the blame on Souther.

im going to agree to disagree on this one. Sorry for the vocabulary I chose in my earlier posts. I still see it as weak.

I'll agree to disagree.
Believe me, I do not agree with the topic presented in the ads either.
I'm curious to know when these ads were played on tv though. Was it during children's programming or prime-time.........or were they blasted all over?

Agree Weekender. Makes me really happy with kind of an underlying nostalgic twinge. I love this work.

We had Trading Tortoise out at one of our summer events and they were awesome. Adults, kids-everyone loved them. Glad to see it still going!

"A few years ago Souther was commissioned to design a stained glass window for a collector who wanted to commemorate the birth of his first child. They emailed us this beautiful photo of the window with their little boy who will be 3 this year!"
