This piece really caught my eye from the movers and shakers show. Hope he explores this direction a little more.

That's very pretty. The woman reminds me of a woman from another artist, but I can't place it at the moment.

I absolutely love the darken background and the glow effect but the women is a little to sam flores for my taste. At first glance i would have thought it was a really awesome more refined flores.

Yes I had initially noticed some similarities to Sam Flores as well but in talking with Nathan it was all coincidence as he started this piece in 2003 several years before he even knew of Flores' work and completed it in 2004.

Sam Flores doesn't own the female figure in that position, . . . I always think of those "big hands" overlapping

For me it is not the over sized hands but really the position of the hands and the bending of the wrist. the slight tilt of the head and the over-sized forehead all seem similar but as I said before better.
Regardless of ownership I hope that spoors continues to explore this color pallet and human figures in is new pieces, I am not a fan of his landscape but a mesmerized by the solemn stillness of his figures....It sounds like he might not since it was a 2003 piece.
BTW travis when are you going to show us a preview of the super-school piece?!?!?!?

[quote anyone have a pic of it hanging?[/quote] Here's a shot of the actual painting. It was my wife first & only purchase of original art. Nathan & Gary at Copro Nason were both incredibly cool to her. It was her first time buying art really and they both really went out of the way to get her the painting. I tried staying out of it, not to push her in any way. Just give her some honest advice from my experience, which was me saying "no, I don't think they make a print of it".

i have a few of his small works on wood and a custom circus punk and love his stuff and hope to add more to my collection . I tend to be more drawn to his dark, ethereal moody style.
