His show has sold amazingly well... So much for a slow market. I guess it goes to show that people are willing to buy but only for select artists. I will be more focused in 2009 as well.

We posted up a nice little interview with James Jean about his new show if you are interested.

not a huge fan of hte abstract stuff, though Jungle is my favorite (next to Horsey, which isn't in this show). The sketches, though, are all very nice. Seem like a good deal, too.

I actually think james is gifted and agree that horsey was a wonderful piece, I was little miffed that somebody stole this from me at the auction but you win one lose many at those....I like jungle and mer I personally feel fine arts wise the abstracts may rise higher than his other work over time.....These were the ones that I was waiting for may have to look at Jungle for my collection....

Amazing how one goes from illustration, to comic covers, to Prada bags and now to fine art. His journey certainly has been an eventful one.

Pretty much every single piece looks better in person...which is saying something, since I already thought so highly of the preview images! A very special show to say the least...

So I had a giggle that someone on expressobeans wanted $15,000.00 for his BALLAD print. I asked him if it was the original but he explained, no, it was indeed the PRINT and that it's value normally go for 1.5 times MORE than the paintings.

Ive heard of art flippers, but this seems a little ridiculous. These are open edition prints this seller is selling right? Kind of pricey huh? I feel bad for the person that buys them not knowing any better.

Yeah...that clown already sold a Crayon Eater print for $179, and that's on the PR website for $52.

Not cool.
