Looks like they are working on a new panoramic. The background looks real dense... Underwater panoramic with coral? Kozy is tirelessly chipping away at the background drawing of our next Panoramic, drawing from photos i shot in the Great Barrier Reef last November. It is by far the most mind-bogglingly dense panoramic background she has ever created. The thought of the eventual photoshop painting process is giving me nightmares already and my hand cramps up just thinking about it. To add to that, the idea i have come up with for the narrative/characters for the piece is going to be equally intensive. Eek! What are we getting ourselves into?
This piece will debut at one of our exhibitions in Europe this year (Amsterdam at the end of May, or Barcelona in mid-June).
Oh and speaking of last November, Amsterdam, and new Panoramics, we also completed another new Panoramic back in November while we were in New Zealand. It is called "The Flooding of the Prinsengracht" and is set (obviously) in Amsterdam. We have not shown it yet because it is part of a project we are working on with PUMA. No more details for now, but no doubt as soon as we are able to talk about the project, images will be posted here...
Sounds like there is another panoramic yet to be revealed. It will be posted on their flickr here www.flickr.com/photos/kozyndan/Can't wait.

A great price for the print at $46 roughly. I love how you can get this also custom sized for your wall. I have about 26ft wall to ceiling...suddenly I feel like living on the bottom of the ocean.

The piece that have the coral in them remind me of my days of working in a studio that made exhibits for natural history museums like Smithsonian. Very beautiful work!

My experience at SDCC with Kozyndan was pretty sweet. I went to look at what they had to offer and they had this really cool postcard set that I had to have, since I am a postcard junkie. I went up to Kozy first and she asked me if I had any special requests... I was a little bamboozled since many artists just sketch what they are feeling, and to me this is cool... so I just said "Anything and surprise me"... When I saw that she was outlining a Hammerhead shark, I was floored... because this was the first underwater beast (meaning over 10ft) that I had laid eyes on and I "was" deathly afraid of sharks... it swam about 30ft from me and all I could do was hover... I wasn't even sure if I was breathing out of my regulator at that point... I just stared at it and (as did it w/ me) and when it swam I realized that this had been one of the most beautiful experiences in my life... fear, awe, respect, exhilaration, and appreciation flowed through my veins in one single moment... Simply put, it was RAD.
Dan had sketched for me a pair of bunnies... one on land, and the other peaking its head out from the water - with its body of a fish under the water. It reminds me of this friendship that I had with someone that had passed away years ago.
I am still familiarizing myself with their work, but so far... so great...
