this artist posted his work randomly on KR and i was blown away (too used to seeing weird stuff from self-proclaimed 'artists' on there) - he was a breath of fresh air. He has upcoming shows this year at: Rivet Gallery Gallery 1988 Roq La Rue

I think he's got some skills. And to be signed to so many gallery shows shows that he's on the right track. Eyes remind me a lot of Lori Earley which i'm sure everyone has noticed before. But big eyes are more of a manga influence definitely not a Earley copyright. Something about the wideness lengthwise or the placement must be doing it for me....

There are a lot of things I like about these pieces...namely the way he paints the settings and then the glass and a lot of the other details like the dresses, outfits and hair. They are very intricate. But for whatever reason I am not too keen on the faces of the majority of them. However, I think it will only get better from here on out. And p.s. it's hands down better than anything I could ever think about drawing/painting.

I also saw his stuff on the KR forum and have been looking everywhere for more info on him. What other names does he go by? where did you find information on him?
Thanks.

Yeah, I wish I would have found out about him a bit earlier, he's way too busy for any commission work right right now. Oh well, I have one drawing that I absolutely love and hopefully I can pick up another one later in the year.

Wow, I missed his thread on kidrobot wish I hadn't! Must have a piece of his art, I'm blown away. Glad I found this site and ran into his art. Just posted on livejournel hoping for a commision but looks like I maybe a bit late. Will watch for his shows at 1988 and Copronason.

i finally got her and in person she is positively stunning! i've dropped off another piece and can't wait to see what they do! sorry, it's impossible to take piccies of glassed in pieces: the "cocoa" of the matte really comes through and i just can't tell you how happy i am! i recommend Baxter's Frameworks in Diamond Bar to all the so-cali's (and the non-so-cali's - they did framing for Lori Earley as well )

I like his b/w style, but I grabbed one of his older, colored pieces. Very cool guy- it's nice to see him get such a great response and have all these upcoming shows lined up. We need more folks like this posting up on KR...

Pretty awesome! Thanks Masao, I've been looking for another artist who's work I completely love. The background patterns in this one and your commission are nice. Similar to what I like about Sylvia Ji's new style.

Wow, really like the frames you get Charity. Very nice. Some new ones. Have you guys ever read his blog? He posted this a while back but sounds like he's been surprised with his success. Sounds like a nice chap. "started this journal last june ,on my birthday.i had alittle dream to be a gallery artist in the lowbrow/pop surrealism movement.i planned on practicing for a year before saying 'im ready' ...but things moved much faster. i needed some money desperately in febuary , my heating bill was due and i wasnt going to beable to pay for it.i live in maine so , doing art in a space thats 30 degrees didnt excite me....being poor was the best thing to happen, it motivated me to post my art in a community of collectors in the movement.i really didnt want to , i was scared - but i had to , i had to hope someone would like my art and buy something. so i posted and the response was overwhelming.i sold enough art to get by and on top of that-galleries asked me to do shows. ... BIG thanks to Kirsten of roq la rue, she has gone out of her way to answer questions and give me much needed advice. and of course BIG thank you the collectors that got me through a tough winter- charity- ryan-shadowbooth and plasticme."
