I don't think there is a thread for him yet?

Ryan is a class act. One of the nicest artists I have ever met.

hands down one of my all time favorite artists. Work must be viewed up close to really appreciate what he does. I can still stare at my piece and see new ways the icons play off each other... and my piece is small. I really want one of his larger works like in the video.

the big bag girl is ridiculous. What kinda doc would install those things that out of proportion... they must be 1/3 of her total body weight.

Great installation there. I really enjoy seeing all the he puts out. You really can get lost in his work. Thanks yet again for sharing Sleep!

Did anyone here go to the Phillips de Pury show in person? I am considering buying a piece and would love to pick your brains about some of the exhibited pieces.

i enjoy ryan mcginness' work a lot, but this whole blacklight strippers thing just seems like a bunch of sexist tat. am i missing something important here? is there a higher meaning, or is it just bad taste?

Not impressed with these at all. Seriously, strippers?? All strikes me as a bit sad.

I felt awkward just looking at these images of the event, and I'm all for celebrating the female form in the nude if tastefully done. I'm sure the booze and the loud music mitigated any off putting elements of this, and it probably was an undeniable good time in the moment. I think it's the outsiders perspective of these event images that gives the whole thing an unsettling and crude spin. That aside, the paintings themselves that have come out of this series are down right terrible..which is almost more unfortunate. Only one more of these to get through in LA upcoming and then this chapter can hopefully be closed.
