There's some earlier in the thread and even more collated on an old AM piece I put together.

More than worth the money considering the amount of hiccups they had figuring out how to produce these at a semi-large scale. Can't wait!

Hard to swallow the price for me. I know it's like probably the world's best popup book though.

Just curious as I'm not terribly familiar with her work. How is this book related to her paintings? Or is it just some side project she was interested in?

Good question. My perspective is that Tauba has developed an obsession with the minutiae of mathematical detail through her roots as a typographer. Anyone who understands the subject knows that even the smallest change can change perceptions massively and make a font communicate a different feeling all together. Her more recent work frees her from that and questions those constraints by juxtaposing randomness and chaos but still in a very constrained way. This pop up book, to me, is an exploration of simple obsessive mathematics but through a medium where that simplicity can be stretched just a little bit to achieve something regimented and perfect.

She must be the most analy retentive person that you can ever hope to meet but that obsessiveness is what makes her special.

Besides, honestly, put yourself in front of one of her fold paintings and I guarantee that nothing I have said will matter and that the pure experience will blow your mind. It's truly transcendental work that no-one can anticipate or rationalise. Photographs simply do not do it justice.

I recently read she throws out 9 of 10 fold paintings because they aren't right to her.

Good to hear of it's appearance albeit in nov.

All things Tauba are atm all on the radar... ££ permitting.

afroken - some intense thoughts there - I positively agree with you.
She's on a tightrope - seemingly dancing with ease.

Now... what will these objects reside in ?

Lowpro - thanks for sharing that.

Although lovely, I still think this untitled fold from the London Art Fair is hands down one of the best paintings Ive seen all year (and I havent seen it in person, could only imagine how much better it is in the flesh)

I was really looking forward to seeing my first Fold painting in the flesh when I went to Basel last Sunday.
However, it was not to be! Unfortunately the one with Standard wasn't exhibited anymore and the one with Paula Cooper was already gone. Well, next time...

(first time poster - long time lurker btw ;))

The new Prints (etchings) Tauba is working on with Paulson Bott Press are really good. I previewed them this week. They will be released later this summer and they will not last long. There will be at least 4 different ones in editions of approx 35 each. Very colorful and graphic. Will post images when I can.
