It's been a great year... two pieces I posted in this "dream" thread have become reality.
Dare I be greedy and hope that some of my other fantasy pieces will come my way next year?

congrats amanda. i like that you have pieces of art hanging on the side of your bookcase! But of course! There was a nail there... left over from some bygone calendar or other. Who needs a calendar? It might be host to an Acorn forest drawing stack before long...

Dare I be greedy and hope that some of my other fantasy pieces will come my way next year? Don't confuse greed for ambition. If anyone here deserves a few more "Holy Grail Acquisitions", it's you. Wish you luck.

So I thought I would ressurect this post. This is without a doubt one of my favourite pieces of all time (if not my favourite) and the fact that I never purchased it haunts me to this day. Everyday! Nouar ' You Satisfy Me' What kills me more is that this piece isnt one of those, 'I could never afford' type dream pieces. This painting came out just when I started buying originals, but at the time I wasnt spending the kind of money this piece was going for. Now days I wouldnt think twice about spending the cash! I love alot of Nouars work but this to me is her best piece ever for my personal taste. I feel a deep pain inside everytime I see it. If anyone reading this owns it, or knows who owns it and ever wants to sell it, PPPLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEE sell it to me. I will be the happiest man alive.

Hi Grit -- I also appreciate Nouar's artwork -- and "You Satisfy Me" is a great piece... Reminds me of her piece in the Dark Pop 3 show at Last Rites Gallery this month -- titled "First Taste is the Sweetest"... I would like to get a good sized painting by Nouar someday as well -- but i do enjoy this large pencil drawing from her last solo show at Copro -- which is currently the only Nouar piece that we have in our collection -- titled "Just Between Us"... - Dan

Hi Dan, yeah Ive seen 'First Taste is the sweetest'. I really like it but not as much as 'You satisfy me'. Its the zombie element that really takes it to the next level for me. 'First Taste...' actually sold before the show even started.
I love the drawing you got, I actually much prefer it to the painting that she did of it. Great pick up.

This is the best thing I've ever seen in person: After that, I'm thinking, any John Singer Sargent portrait, some crazy Aaron Horkey painting (the kind that hasn't been painted yet), or like a Bosch or something. If I woke up with money my first purchase would probably be a Berens, then a Brett Amory.

I have no conscious idea of why I pine after Camilla's Volpe, but I do and I am afraid if ever confronted with purchasing it, I might be willing to do something crazy.

I'd still be willing to move heaven and earth for this one. I've recently been wishing I'd been more on the ball when this one was for sale. Don't know what it is exactly... it just makes me happy. Andrew Hem "Stuffed Animals"

This is the best thing I've ever seen in person: This particular piece changed what I thought I felt about Schorr - seeing his work in person is, I have to admit, quite an overwhelming experience. I thought this piece had the most depth....such a great piece.

I won't say anything over the top like the Slav epic by Mucha as most that I can think of in that league need to be on public display . For my own selfish "mine mine mine" I'd take : Vania Zouravliov : Sleep Aaron Horkey : No More Noir John Dyer Baizley : Phantom Limb

Oh! but to dream.... i would likely sell my soul for this piece - a modern masterpiece. i would also love to hang this piece! all of these are impossibilities though - james market is just too tight. but hell, so many pieces from this show could be described as dream pieces. and speaking of dream pieces.... ahhhh!!!
