I had a chance to see Darby's work at Signal when i was in London a few weeks ago. Very good work, excellent mix of collage work and painting technique. Fortunate enough to grab a few pieces for our upcoming Artwalk group show.

Love this new work! While I'm slightly partial to his previous work that integrated corporate branding, I'm glad to see him deviating from that increasingly cliche crutch some artists seem to be falling back on a too much as a means of conveying whatever political message they see fit. Admittedly, I am a sucker for the pop culture references and feel it is utilized in an arguably more effective way here than some other street/contemporary artists. But these fresh compositions strike me as quite powerful as well. It's a nice progression, indeed. Clearly, his vision is a work in progress..which is a good thing, as the creative juices definitely seem to be flowing. But it's quite apparent that there is some technical merit at the core of the work. I love his diversity of media applications, blending the collage work together with the some stenciling. And the brush work over top everything is wonderful too. I look forward to seeing how artistic voice develops further.
Thanks for the heads up, sven.

It was a very moving show. Top notch art, and I was happy to see an artist creating work that focused on something other than pure imagination based imagery. Something that made you think, and someone that clung to you for the rest of the week.
I hope more artists start creating work that addresses social, political, and spiritual issues soon. I think now more than ever it's needed. Made another video walkthrough of this show.
