Travis tells me we'll be seeing some larger works from him this time around. He's getting better and better... each new piece is more realistic and alive than the one before. Also, keep your eye out for a book of Travis' work, coming from Baby Tattoo this July. Saturday, May 9, 2009 7:00pm - 11:00pm Copro Gallery 2525 Michigan Avenue, T5 Santa Monica, CA

Just posted a little writeup on Travis at Erratic Phenomena with an exclusive sneak peek at a new direction he will be exploring, starting with this show... check it out here. By the way, since Copro didn't add Travis' wonderful "Curious Ginseng Man" to the online preview for the Hi-Fructose show until after the opening night, it's still available. I can attest that it is one of his finest quality works to date.

"Sarah and Emmett" is striking. I can almost feel the collar of her coat just by looking at it. She is certainly an amazing lady. I wish I could see this painting in person.

Travis will be flying out to LA in a couple of days for his show... and he's just finished his largest portrait to date. Here's Bill, with Travis' daughter beside him for scale...

Travis' work never ceases to amaze (and entertain) me! I really look forward to each new showing with great anticipation and come back to his images over and over again... and the associated back-stories are the icing on the cake! The back-stories along with the images of ever-compelling characters has always begged for a book project - I can't wait to see it finally come to be! It'll be a well-worn book in our house! jIm

Wow! I'm floored by Bill...just awesome! I too love the large scale nature of it. I take it the piece is 36x48 or so? Gives it an ominous, intimidating feel at that ginormous scale. If it were were half the size, however, I doubt I could resist making this my first painting from Travis. Just love his uni-ocular, fuzzy characters, especially with plants growing from their dome. Cute, yet grotesque. The perfect juxtaposition.

Not sure why Copro hasn't posted a complete preview. Apparently the show is half sold already, just from walk-ins. Travis will post a full preview on his blog shortly.

Did anyone make it out to Travis's opening?
I was wondering how much "Bill Discovers mustache wax" sold for?
Congratulations Travis.

Posted up some pics here. I met my idol - Jason Biggs. Don't forget Jason's wife, Jenny Mollen, on the other side of Travis! I love that short-film they did together - "Kidnapping Caitlynn". Hilarious! jIm

ah... thanks for the tip. i was wondering who she was. i guess you are up on the celebrities news more than me. I don't actually follow celebs at all - just thought that short those 2 did together was pretty funny. Check it out below - one of the items shes getting back from her ex-boyfriend in the short, is a KO painting. Its only about 7 mins long...classic Biggs www.funnyordie.com/videos/c88a7cc52a/kidnapping-caitlynnjIm
