Il Cane is actually male mancub. it's a nom de plume also. he's definitely one of my favourite 'outdoor' artists. some of his indoor work is a little hit and miss for me, but when he's good, he's brilliant. here's the link to the pieces in this show. some nice pieces, although i'm still thinking that fighting goats piece from fame festival this year was one of the best ive seen from him ever. www.fifty24sf.com/images/Ericailcane-Preview.pdfthere are also some great etchings on the fifty24 website. for a good price that i'm tempted over....

My mistake, I saw the name Erica and jumped to conclusions.
Thanks for the link, Sven. Really enjoy his work and have never really seen anything before this thread. A little pricey in my opinion, but I'm assuming (which I shouldn't after the epic name fail) that he has been on the scene for a bit? Favorite piece from the show was 'L’acquario'.

The imagery is fantastic... is it Erica Il Cane or Ericailcane (kind of Eric Ailcane)?
Really enjoying 'Nascondino', 'La Madonna Appare', 'Tana Mia' and 'Trespolo'... awesome works I have seen lately, thank you guys.
Kind of mixing Aesop Fables w/religious imagery?
edit: the more I see them, the more I like them... takes me back to that era of browsing pop up books and listening to read aloud(s) at school. I am a sucker for ink on paper, graphite and charcoal on paper... they give animated characters a more somber look and an old school aesthetic. thank you guys...

The imagery is fantastic... is it Erica Il Cane or Ericailcane (kind of Eric Ailcane)? still dunno if it should be ericailcane (because if you see how stuff is signed, it's all one word) or erica il cane (which in Italian would literally mean "erica the dog" - according to babelfish) and if you look on POW the name is listed as Eric the Dog, but the artist's name isn't Eric. I tried asking what the name meant... but the artist won't give an explanation and would just say that it's open for interpretation

A pseudo name perhaps? I like the mystery behind it.

i always spell it as Ericailcane myself, but am never 100% sure if i'm right. i've seen it done lots of ways, plus as eric the dog. whilst i hold him in great esteem, he's not the most chatty of people, and i've not asked on the occasions i've met him.
