Roq La Rue presents Martin Wittfooth "Gardens" and Michael Brown "New Works" opening Friday December 10th 6-9pm "Roq La Rue is pleased to present the work of two painters who deal with allegorical subject matter using emotionally driven narratives featuring animals as protagonists. Martin Wittfooth creates a world seemingly post-man. His sun-hazy apocalyptic scenes contain animals who are seemingly wild, yet forever changed by their encounters with humanity. Michael Brown is known for his paintings of animals with human-like expressions. For this show he has also expanded his repertoire to create beautifully lush, flower filled Vanitas with plant life bursting forth from animal hosts." Martin Wittfooth "The Devil's Playground" Mike Brown "Imposter" Martin Wittfooth "New Suns" Mike Brown "Failure of Perception"

What a great show, Wittfooth´s pieces are pure magic. The day that I get one of his pieces will be a very special day.
Good luck with the opening!

One of the best shows of 2010.
Wittfooth is amazing as usual, it must hurt to be sooooooo talented. All are stunning but my favorites are New Suns, The Devils Playground and Isle of The Dead (second version)
Love Mike Brown's use of color & light, the parasitic flora aspect is a little creepy but incredibly beautiful.
What an outstanding end to Roq La Rue's 2010 calendar of shows. Thank you Kirsten so much for one mind blowing show after another. Happy Holidays!
