Guess I was too slow on the Keyes piece. The Wittfooth is very tempting

I actually got home earlier and caught the email less than two mins of it hitting my inbox. The piece was already sold. So I presume it was held back for someone in particular or listed for a slip second to cover bases of availability and then marked as sold..which is perfectly fine. I'd argue Greg or a close friend or family member of his or the gallery had more of a right to it than the general public. I wasn't interested in the piece really, even though seeing the list price now made it a bit more appealing. But I did inquire whether it would be available on a first come first serve basis and was assured it would be included in the webstore. I'd be interested to hear if anyone caught the email right at 4:30 when it was issued and actually saw it available to add to cart. I trust it's gone to a good home.

Regardless, I have to say the execution of Tony Curanj piece is impeccable. Hot damn can that guy paint.

On a sidenote, I can understand why Retna has hung up his conventional painting and gone in the typographic direction. That piece is really really bad.

I saw the email pretty much right after it arrived but i didnt exactly rush to see the keyes piece so who knows? I suppose that someone could have grabbed it up immediately but my impression was that it was already sold - which kinda makes sense considering his waitlist.
