Beyond Eden is a multi-gallery event celebrating the New Contemporary Art Movement in Los Angeles. The public is invited to attend this special event and admission is free. After the overwhelming back-to-back success of the 1st two editions of Beyond Eden, both of which drew over 5,000 people to the beautiful confines of Barnsdall, the organizers plan to keep the focus of the event on the thriving New Contemporary Art Movement. This genre of art continues to build momentum on a national level and is finally starting to receive mainstream recognition from major institutions and publications the world over. With its foundation firmly planted in Southern California and a patron base here in Los Angeles that has been building over the past several decades, it’s easy to see why Beyond Eden has been welcomed with such open arms by the Los Angeles arts community. Beyond Eden 2011 will showcase the works of a half dozen galleries and will be held inside the beautiful confines of the historic Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery during the weekend of October 1st and 2nd with an opening night celebration planned for Saturday, October 1st. Participating galleries include C.A.V.E. Gallery, Copro Gallery, Gallery Nucleus, La Luz De Jesus Gallery (in celebration of their 25th Anniversary this year), Toy Art Gallery, and Thinkspace. In addition to the works on display from the participating galleries, Beyond Eden 2011 will also feature live painting demonstrations throughout the gallery inside and out alongside special exhibitions from Cannibal Flower (emerging LA based artists) and Spoke Art (the LA stop of the traveling ‘Quentin vs. Coens’ exhibit) and a special showcase of Los Angeles street artists presented by Thinkspace and curated by local artist Euth. Rounding out this special event will be a showcase in the media room of the ‘Best Of’ Sketch Theater, the popular online site designed to inspire creativity through time-lapsed, start-to-finish sketches from the world’s best artists. Founded in 1951, the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery is a historic 10,000 square foot facility located on the sprawling grounds of Olive Hill in the Barnsdall Art Park. The park overlooks the city of Los Angeles and is also home to the famous Frank Lloyd Wright Hollyhock House and Arts Complex. Under the Department of Cultural Affairs, the LAMAG is the premier city-run gallery that focuses on contemporary art, particularly the work of living Southern California artists. Stephanie Buer - 'The Car Ramp' - 37x29 - graphite on paper - featured with Thinkspace at BEYOND EDEN BEYOND EDEN 2011 is quickly approaching – only a lil' over 2 weeks to go now. We’ve more advertising and marketing in place than ever before, so we’re really looking forward to one hell of a show. Not to mention all the folks that will be in town for the big Pacific Standard Time event and the numerous new fairs invading LA this Sept/Oct. Currently getting our artists geared up for the show and the new works coming in so far are just magical. I know all the other galleries are putting together some awesome exhibits as well and will do me proud. It’s an honor to put this event together for the people of LA and to also help bring attention to the amazing grounds of the Barnsdall Art Park and the LA Municipal Art Gallery where the event is held. One of Sarah Joncas' new works to be featured with Thinkspace at BEYOND EDEN 2011 Showing with Thinkspace this year at Beyond Eden: Anthony Clarkson Brett Amory Brian M. Viveros Craig “Skibs” Barker David Cooley David MacDowell Jacub Gagnon Jason Thielke Jeremy Hush Kelly Allen Kelly Vivanco Rod Luff Sarah Joncas Scott Radke Stephanie Ann Buer Tran Nguyen Yosuke Ueno The work of Euth on the streets of LA - look for him in 'Creator/Spectator' as part of BEYOND EDEN 2011If that wasn’t enough we’ve also teamed up with local artist Euth to shine a light on some of the most intriguing artists currently gracing the streets of Los Angeles with their work. “Creator / Spectator” Presented by Thinkspsace and curated by Euth The artists chosen to participate in “Creator / Spectator” represent the outside circle of underground art in Los Angeles. These are individuals exploring concepts deeply rooted in their own personal history and that are not looking to follow in the footsteps of those who came before them. Each artist was selected because their work is not simply about a name and a product, but more so about who he or she is as a individual – this is not a group working towards a common title or theme like “street art” but instead a group of individuals who have found common ground in a medium that promotes the individuality of each component explored. This exhibit looks to explore beyond the mentality that the medium is the message. This is about a path of life chosen by these artists that constitutes the very nature of who they are. Each artist involved in this show offers something unique to the city of Los Angeles, a personal message to which they are both creator and spectator. Featuring works from: Cat Cult Corrina Corina CRYPTIK Duart JDI Euth Line Line Dot NOMADE Smog City Curated by Euth hauntedeuth.com/home.htmlAll taking place at BEYOND EDEN 2011

Less than 2 weeks to go. All event signage is with Blik, live painters are confirmed, ads and banners are out all over, Sketch Theater's 'Best Of' collection on DVD is in my hands and the works are starting to come in for our part of the show and all the other galleries are busy getting their parts together. Big feature confirmed for next week's LA Weekly. Looking damn solid - look forward to sharing this with you all next Sat, Oct. 1st - please plan to swing by if you're in the LA area that weekend for all the fairs and such.

WHAT A NIGHT!!! Thank you to all that came through and showed such strong support!
Over 4,000 through the doors last night for the kick off festivities. WOW! Considering all that was going on with PST and the other art fairs in town, we were blown away by the strong showing of support and can't thank you all enough. The energy in the air was palpable from the onset with live painters bringing it all over the grounds, a flame blowing bartender (THAT was amazing), amazing DJ sets and the great people of Los Angeles. AWESOME.
For those that missed last night's goodness, BEYOND EDEN will be open from noon to 5PM today, Sunday, October 2nd.
THANK YOU LA - we're already looking forward to next year's event!!!
