Guess there isn't a thread for him. Here are three pieces from the upcoming Phillips de Pury auction.

I'm a great fan of Barrys work and in particular the biro drawings.

Those two early drawings are nice. But that paint can lid is not going to age well. it probably will be totally rusted through in a a few years. high quality work by him rarely comes to auction.

Thanks for posting it up.. Nice teaser... and I just found out who's the curator for this Biennale, Hou Hanru, who happens to be a faculty for SFAI which is Mcgee had graduated from. Connections helps ;-) Hope someone makes a video of McGee's spectacular show soon!

Great video, thanks for the link. His work on the outside of the Fondation de Cartier is pretty amazing. As is the show.. But I still love the old twister tag, as seen in a wee alley in Paris:

that amaze tag outside the fondation is actually by josh lazcano, who i believe is mcgee's assistant. the plaque outside states it is mcgee's work, and apparently - when i asked the staff there about it - they said it was barry's work. i heard since that josh painted it and barry assisted. i guess the fondation paid for them to go out there and put the piece up, but they didn't actually get a mcgee as i didn't see any of his other work there.... i thought the black books in the basement were intersting to look at, but the exhibition as a whole was a bit of a let down. the vitche piece inside was the winner for me.

Nice photo series... I just met Barry, Clare, and Asha last Tuesday at Ari Macropoulos' photography exhibition last Tuesday in Berkeley. Ari just introduced them to me and they were super-nice to do a doodle in my small moleskin book. Even Barry doodled instead of doing his usual tagging.

Do you have a pic of what he did for you? Amazing he did that - wow. That's a rarity, sure having Ari make the intro helped big time. nice one!

SFMOMA's having one of McGee's huge wall installation exhibited soon for its anniversary show... and this link elaborates on how to conserve McGee's complicated found frames and drawings... blog.sfmoma.org/2009/11/reframing-conservation/Great read....
