f**king WOW!
i stopped by josh liners booth at basel last year a few different occasions and each time people were totally drawn in by kris' piece. so many people stopping to ask questions. there is so much to see at art fairs, but when you catch a glimpse of something like these you have to check out the detail.
hope the swiss basel draws an appreciative crowd also.

For domestic shows Kris drives a large truck accross the country to the gallery. For this show, they just paid ALOT of money to get the best art handlers to ship this accross the pond.

Love these. I wonder how many of these he has done in the past? I think more than one right?

Kris Kuksi Book - Divination and Delusion
$39.00 USD
NOTE: This is a pre-order. This book will be released in September 2010.

http://beinart.org/shop/books-2/kris-kuksi-divination-and-delusion-161.html

Kris Kuksi Book - Divination and DelusionKris Kuksi's sculptures, rendered in immaculate detail, evoke a grandeur reminiscent of the Baroque era. Kuksi successfully merges this sumptuous echo of the past with a satirical and critical commentary of our modern industrial world. These finely crafted sculptures employ images of Gods and Goddesses from past and present mythologies and examine religious belief and iconography. Despite the frequent portrayal of corruption, violence, chaos and degeneration, the works in this book challenge aspects of our beliefs and question whether or not humans have the ability to improve the world’s prosperity.

The creation of these sculptures spans the last five years and embodies Kuksi's personal view of our turbulent world. These beautiful assemblages grace the walls of galleries and museums throughout the world and are displayed in the homes of numerous celebrities.

This stunning volume allows the wider public to examine and appreciate these artworks in exquisite detail for the first time.

One awesome sculpture from the:
APOCALYPTIC SCULPTURES__series.
( I'd like to know the exact title of this individual sculpture
but I couldn't find it....after visiting many different websites
for this exact image ). Apparently, nobody believes in posting
titles & dates anymore.

NOTE:
Be sure to click on image to view awesome enlargement.
