Matt's one of my favorite artists.

His drawings are what first caught my eye...

Here's one from his latest show

A little Portishead to start off puts me in a good mood.

You know it. I have some other music loaded into the site that you can access on the bottom right, (the musical note - obviously) - I think I have like 5 Portishead songs in there. :) Thanks for checking it out.

I listen to all kinds of stuff... whatever harmonizes with my mood you know... I can go from Enya to blasting Fear Factory in a matter of minutes ha - but I figured Portishead and Front Line Assembly were a chill kind of softer atmospheric tune for a website. My favorite music to listen to while I paint would undoubtedly go to Tibetan Monks chanting though... I like to relate painting to meditating, and the mantra chanting of "om" puts me in the deepest fathoms of my imagination... for real. :)

Wow... I don't know a lot of people that are into Front Line Assembly. lol... They are incredible - "Implode" and "Epitaph" being my favorite albums of theirs. They are great to zone out on when you're painting.

Here was the piece for the paper pushers show... Something a little different. The face reminds me of Hattori with a dangler creature popping out. Pretty cool, wish I could have picked it up.

saw it when I stopped by the show, smaller than I imagined from the picture on the internet. In turn, the pen work is unbelievable, I can't fathom the amount of patience it took to do that. Matt, if you read this, what type of pen did you use?

I've said it from the get go...Matt is one of my favorite artists. I've got two originals by him....looking to pick up a few more. Thing is, every time i see a piece i'm in love with it's sold before the buyer's preview link even goes up! All good though, i'm a patient dude. And btw, Matt is one of the coolest dudes you'll ever talk to. He's given me numerous tips on how to become a better oil painter. Can't wait til this dude REALLY blows up and gets his due credit/respect as an artist. This will happen be it two months or two years down the road, you can't deny insane talent and creativity.

And Matt, stop lying. We all know you listen to New Kids on The Block and 98 Degrees when you paint ;D
