Welcome to the forum. I was wondering when someone would start a thread on Ron English. Not a huge fan of his but I like this print. Might be the larget print ever made LOL.

Wow. Those ginormous canvas Giclees were only $1000. That's extremely affordable, especially for an edition of 5. I tended to think $500 for the It Wanders Simkins print was a bit excessive, but assumed the elevated price was a result of a small edition. However, it was a larger edition by a magnitude of 10 and a third the size. Now Knight Watch comes along and it's speculated to be somewhere between $700-850 (still a little suspect why they can't set a price). The profit margins on these pieces is fucking insane!

Agreed Lowpro, a shame that a price has not been set...hope the hype to Knight Watch does not determine the cost. Those busts are amazing, love the white but that has sold out already. Will try to pick the black one up.

www.toytokyo.com Ron English Abraham Obama bust now avail to pre-order for $200

These should go quick, considering white has sold out from Mindstyle already. Ordered the black, cannot wait to get it.

I have to admit I wasn't a massive fan until I saw some of his work at the Elms show his did with Adam Neate. And I have to say it was outstanding, the guy is a phenomenal painter. Some on the pieces on show were just stunning, I could have looked at them for hours.

I've been fan for quite some time but haven't found the right piece to purchase until recently "I think". He's paints with so much incredible diversity and really swings nicely between both high/lowbrow movement. He's quite the stud but with not much recognition. i love how he's been repainting the old masters with added Kiss twist to each painting.

are you saying that you bought a piece? :o

english definitely has skills. but you are right, sometimes under the radar for some reason. although he seems to sell well and for a lot (for example, mark parker bought that top piece for 60K i think). he got a lot of press too with the whole obama thing. i wonder why we feel like he's under the radar?

nah, i had to pass on the stuff he exhibited at the Shooting Gallery. I really want to pick up a piece but can't commit right now with the kinda money needed. Bummed about it.
