If you sell it to me at the same price as the print edition, then I'll find you a US shipping address or fly down and take it off your walls at Christmas, since I'll already be in FL

Is the one with the bear in it a collaboration with Jessica Hess?

Love Nate's work and his concepts - he's proven that he can paint. These new pieces look a little rough/unfinished though - the third piece of the tigers almost looks 2-D. Not wanting to step on toes or bash Nate - I love his work otherwise I wouldn't have followed it to the forum. Anyone else have thoughts on the new work and their quality? Cheers, everyone!

Any word yet as to which piece was made into the print for PULSE? I'm stuck at work and it's just killing me.

Quote:Right or wrong, that was my first reaction as well... I think I remember reading somewhere that he felt hurried / rushed when creating these. Also, I think these are larger canvases, so that may have something to do with it... Anyone have the preview link yet, I would be interested in seeing the rest of the works...
UPDATE: Found the quote I was thinking of, it was on his blog about a week ago: Quote:
[quote]These fairs are coming up fast. With no time between my last solo and now, it's been really tough. |

I can understand that - he's been quite busy. For me, I think quality should always surpass quantity. With his work being as representational as it is I would think that would be integral to what he is trying to achieve. If these painting were more polished I think they would blow minds - as they stand they are good, but Nate has proven time and time again that he is better than just 'good'. Then again, he's the artist

i'm actually not into any of them. usually i'm quite charmed by his work, but the first one seems pretty depressing and the last two feel flat to me.

Nate just posted this new image on his blog and wrote a post about the reactions to his new body of work - read here ...
I must say after initially having the same feeling about them, I start to like the new pieces more and more.. somehow this "unfinished" thing everyone is mentioning is very appealing to me... so, if anyone knows any news about the upcoming print, please share the info
