Sleep thank you so much for sharing. I just love James' art. My favorite would be top piece, the texture and the colors just takes it to another level for me. :)

Hey, guys - I have a problem that I was hoping that one of you might be able to help me with. My girlfriend is a huge James Jean fan, and her birthday is coming up in like a month... I was planning on getting her one of his $80 prints from his store but I just checked for the first time in a while, and the store is gone. Is there anywhere else where I could get some kind of James Jean artwork in the $100 or less price range? I've searched pretty hard already. And I think she already has all of his books so those won't work. Thanks!

Yeah, not too sure what happened with his store, but it's been down for weeks.

You could pick up a show catalog off ebay for $100 (signed/numbered).

Or this print here for $90. I like the print but it's not everyone's favorite. From 2010, it's limited, signed/numbered, and glows under a blacklight :P If she likes Imogen Heap, that's a plus.

you might try asking on the expressobeans forum. they deal with a lot more prints there. he puts out prints from his moleskin from time to time, and you might be able to snag one of those if the value hasn't gone up too much.

I think James took down the shop when he switched his sales over to OVM, and I guess he's done with selling "cheap" prints through his site. Maybe it doesn't hurt to just ask him, though...?

OVM had open editions as well, but OVM has been down for a while now too.

That's an amazing little JJ piece. Lucky collector who got their hands on that.

I wonder if he took down his website because of what he said in the Juxtapoz interview? Pretty rough stuff.

He obviously knew it would be published. Would love to know what's going on as well, but this doesn't make sense to me.

doesn't make for comfortable reading.
kind of a bizarre interview though - as if the interviewer had his questions written down and had to ask them regardless of what jean said in the intervening answers.
strange article for sure - thanks for sharing.
