I just got back from this opening. It was most incredible. Alix covered the whole gallery in black velvet and the room was dimly lit with the paintings illuminated. It set the perfect mood for them. The paintings themselves were of course great. I am totally in love with "Gretchen". She's the German looking one above.

Sorry, I didn't have my camera with me and the iPhone wasn't cutting it. As for Brad's paintings they look awesome in person. Amazing detail. Althouhg it was tough going to the back room where his work was as it was fully lit in contrast to the lighting in the front part of the gallery. It was blinding. Could've used my sunglasses

We took some photos from the exhibition but it was during book signing instead of the opening. Marion Peck was there with Mark Ryden. The paintings were great and the whole set up really suit the mood of the whole exhibition. "Gretchen" is also one of my favorites. Brad Woodfin's paintings are wonderful but I agree with pricklypete that it was tough for your eyes to adjust to the fully lit project room after you viewed the dimly lit front part of the gallery for a while. heidilovespainting.blogspot.com/2010/12/marion-pecks-exhibition-what-you-are-so.html

Wonderful photos Heidi! Thanks for posting those. I wanted to drive back up for the booksigning with my daughter but life got in the way...not to mention I was pretty tired from three fun filled days in the city!

Glad you enjoyed them, Pete. We wanted to go to the opening as well but we knew it would be too exhausting to do both:)

amazing! Whats insane is those Oil and encaustic peices. i am very curious as to how she painted with such immense detail on such a fickle medium. i so wish i had not missed out on one of the old soul peices
