On Saturday, September 15, 2012, Corey Helford Gallery is pleased to present “Empire,” an exhibition of new paintings by New York artist Martin Wittfooth. “Empire” marks Wittfooth’s first solo exhibition at Corey Helford Gallery and his most powerful work to date.

This show is shaping up to be incredible. Hopefully there are some smaller pieces as well

Its seemed there were alot of smaller pieces in his earlier shows. My other favourite works of his were always smaller anyway. I understand why he goes big because the work translates so well on a large scale/canvas, it just unfortunatelly prices me out most of the time

I agree Sal. In my opinion it's one of his best ever! If a print were released of this one I think it would greatly expand his fan base because of it's broader appeal. Some of his other pieces are quite dark and intense...ask my wife. I think she'd actually let me put this one up in the living quarters. : )

It's subtlety is what I love about this piece.

now this is nice!.. so good to see a bright, "positive" image from Martin.. Other than the pretty colours, it doesn't look at all positive to me. Downed helicopter, poppy fields - looks like an Afghan War metaphor to these eyes.

Yes indeed. It's pretty colors radiate off the canvas but the message is still powerful. I would not call this a "positive" piece.

Nope, not positive at all.

Downed helicopter, poppy fields - looks like an Afghan War metaphor to these eyes. First thing I saw was global warming and polar bears.

I believe the title of that piece is "Media". Yes, a masterpiece it is!

Preview is out. The show looks amazing! Sadly, the ones I'm interested in are out of my price range.

This ^ I live in a home that wouldn't do justice to the piece that I wanted.

The collection of pieces in this show is jaw dropping. I really like that Martin is exploring "brighter" compositions like with "Harvest" and "Fall / Advent". "Golod" and "Occupy" are both incredible. Said it before, but I really wish he'd do more pieces that would physically fit in an averaged size home.
Anyone here lucky enough to pick something up?

Am mesmerized by the painting titled Occupy. Big, bold, just wonderful. IMO it may well be the best that Martin has done.
