On Saturday, August 30th, Corey Helford Gallery’s extremely successful Art Collector Starter Kit group exhibition (March, 2013) returns for its second annual event with all new 12” X 12” works from an exciting line-up of new and established New Contemporary artists. Par- ticipating artists this year include world-renowned painters such as SHAG, Sas Christian, Colin Chris- tian, Michael Hussar, Miss Van, Natalia Fabia, Brandi Milne, LOLA, Tokidoki, Paul Frank Sunich, and Sylvia Ji. Joining for the first time are some incredibly strong new voices, including Hikari Shimoda, Jennybird Alcantara, Melissa Forman, Nicomi Nix Turner,Victor Castillo, Nathan Ota,Yosuke Ueno, Bumblebeelovesyou, Hueman, Bob Dob, So Youn Lee, Will Barras, Redd Walitzki, Tom Bagshaw, and Yukino Fukumoto. Joining us for the second time, CHG is proud to announce the continued partici- pation of Alexandra Manukyan, Beau Stanton, Camilla d’Errico, Carlos Ramos, David Stoupakis, Joey Remmers, Nouar, Richard J. Oliver, and RISK.

The motivation behind an exhibition of all 12” X 12” paintings stems from the fact that newer collectors, or enthusiasts, who have never bought an original piece from one of their favorite artists, may now do so. CHG, through its CIRCA gallery, continues to pursue its mission of spreading the joy and satisfaction of art appreciation and collection to the larger, often not reached, public that sees itself somewhat outside the elevated world of gallery attendance and/or the pleasure that comes from the owning of original art. The art world often seems to have an invisible wall, making some patrons feel unwanted. CHG, through its live events, open to the public, and its free print and free poster program - 17,000 anti-war posters created by some of the top artists in the New Contemporary scene were given away at the Art Basel art fair in 2007 - hopes to create a more welcoming experience for these patrons and the affordability of 12” X 12” original works is a step in that direction.
