He's probably moving into a bigger house. That's a nice price for a So Cal house. If I had the money, I would try to negotiate some of the artwork in the house.

I am 99% certain that he is not broke!
By the looks of that house, I'd say it has been staged for a sale and the family has likely moved into their new house.
If you are actively selling a house as Fairey's, it's sensible to have some of his art hanging in there. I'd seen some pics of that house before, while they lived in it, and there was great art from their collection hanging all over(non Obey pieces).
