TO SLEEP LIKE GHOSTS In the Vault: Brad Kunkle. Sleep is a beautiful, uninhibited state of being. Waking from a dream only to realize that it was JUST a dream is a powerful feeling and It's amazing what we can experience and learn without the laws of physics or our known reality arranging things for us. The paintings of TO SLEEP LIKE GHOSTS are about heading towards something beautiful and unknown, and allowing the natural world to take us there, not the dogmas and learned behaviors. Medium: Oil, Silver and gold leaf on linen

This diptych he painted was inspired by his journey to find his missing dog over 39 days. It now hangs in the Downtown Manhattan offices of FindShadow, an app the artist helped create when he realized technology could better help reunite lost dogs with their owners (with over 400 success stories in NYC so far). bradkunkle.com/closer-look
