Lovely commission melusine, congrats. Martin´s work is truly amazing in person. Thank you, it is dedicated to my late father so it means a lot to me that Martin envisioned the concept so perfectly. Such a sweet and flexible guy to work with as well. I am very grateful

This is really superb. As there are no weak pieces in Martin's work, in the last two years the level went to the top.

Martin is curating Henrik Uldalen's Instagram account Paint Guide this week. Every week it's a new painter posting art that inspires them. instagram.com/paintguide

“We can begin the restructuring of thought by declaring legitimate what we have denied for so long. Lets us declare Nature to be legitimate. The notion of illegal plants is obnoxious and ridiculous in the first place.” – Terence McKenna New painting for Galerie d'art Yves Laroche's 10 year anniversary show, opening in October: "Shaman I", 36" x 46", oil on canvas, 2014

I don't know what to think about this piece. If you had shown it to me independent of this thread, I would not have identified it as a Wittfooth. Certainly there are some elements that I recognize (the ears, eyes, and ribs), but there are other aspects of the image that I don't. This is not a negative observation, just an observation. The background looks somewhat reminiscent of the new style of Josh Keyes. And the tongue (or what I take as a tongue like appendage) is very surprising and has more of a feel of a South American or Central American painting than a traditional Wittfooth. All in all, very interesting. And I agree, Origo, the quote is excellent.

Yeah, looks a little different from his usual although there are some things that look familiar - palette, desolate natural setting, feral creature. We'll see how his his newer paintings coming up look...

So I'm new to this board, and I've looked around, and not seen anything that says it's a jerk move to ask general questions regarding prices...so if this is a jerk move as a first post, I apologize.
That said, I am having trouble finding current prices for Martin's work. I've wanted a piece for a few years now and am ready to start saving/budgeting hard...I just need a target to aim for. Can anyone give me a size/price ballpark?

It obviously depends on the size, but a 18 x 24 would be around the 5K mark, 40x40 around 12-13 I guess but this is only guidelines.
His work is worth it and then some, awesome artist.

i would agree with Origo, depends on the size. i don't want to talk about personal prices. but i would suggest contacting Martin. he's awesome and at least with the piece i'm commissioning he saw my vision perfectly. i can't wait to see it and share it with all.
