Recently came across the work of this young artist from Chicago, Ryan Stewart Nault, and thought that some folks here might enjoy the work too. www.flickr.com/photos/ryannaultart/     I particularly like that this painting of a piece of plywood is painted on a piece of chipboard.  He has some work in Good Press Gallery's group show It Is As It Was[/b] in Glasgow opening this evening.  |

Museums Press just released a book by Ryan. just ordered my copy. INDOOR LIVING PART ONE: GETTING ACQUAINTED By Ryan Stewart Nault Published by Museums Press 28 pages, 21.6 x 28cm, saddle stitched, full colour digital print throughout, first edition of 100, 2012. 'Ryan Stewart Nault is an artist currently based in Chicago, but originally from Michigan. His paintings often incorporate sculptural and everyday elements (t-shirts, plants, gloves), with a tonality akin to modern American painting, the likes of Edward Hopper et al, described by Ryan as harbouring the effects of 'domestic comfort'.
