Haven't seen a new sculpt in a while. This one will be in bronze, edition of 10. No details yet but apparently on Tuesday, more info will be released on his blog.

I have seen additional pics of the clay sculpt and this is going to be great! Everything that is clay is the final sculpt, there is a little guy to the side of the girl that appears to singing to her. The final product will be fantastic!

Joe is an incredibly nice guy, as is his wife. As an aritst i can never forget the advice he gave me on how to choose the correct paints not based on popularity but how they feel to you, and he and Sean Christopher have gotten me hooked on old holland.
he also did a drawing for me, which ill post up soon
does anyone know if he still does painting commisions?

panditha, if you are looking to pick up a piece by joe sorren, i'd suggest getting on joshua liner's preview list for the show that joe has at the gallery next year. i think josh has a couple of pieces in inventory too.

Thanks for the heads up. I emailed joe about it, have not heard back yet, because i am pretty sure he is busy. Should have done so when he was a bit more acessible

well, i know he is working on a series of smaller pieces - something like 18x18 for one of his upcoming shows.

Panditha,
I would also agree about the preview list for next year. I know there are going to be a fair number of smaller 18X18 works but am sure with Sorrens work they will be pricey however do know I have one work from him and the images on the internet do it zero justice to the see the works in person are breath taking, I had to save and sacrifice for mine and can never see myself getting tired of it I often spend time just looking at all the little details. A Sorren work will be a great investment both finical and for your eyes I think

A Sorren work will be a great investment both finical and for your eyes I think i indeed agree, especially about how internet pictures do zero justice in regards to seeing it in person. i remember seeing "why am I the only one still jazzercising" and the way the brush strokes captured the light was amazing, very jewel like. I saw that in the work you commissioned from him. From what i was told by i believe Thru-thinking, that the prices are based around, foot. And since it will take me a while to gather funds for say the same price as one being sold in a gallery, by then, his work IMHO will be as exclusive as Ryden's work meaning, they will sell out even before the preview list is up. Which is another reason why I am currently wondering if he does still do commissions. even the drawing he did for me, of me, i still treasure, simple as it may be, its just too cool .

I have spoken with Mr. Sorren at great lengths and when first contacted him regarding a second drawing ( which he was 1000 percent right I would not have been happy with that ) I asked him regarding his pricing being something by size as I had heard the same thing however he told me he does not figure pricing by the foot or sq. inch from what I took away from it.

That is so gorgeous... why do I have to be so disciplined with my spending? I'm not even a huge Sorren fan, but that statue is just exquisite.
