was just browsing through youtube when this came up on my suggested videos. Anyone have this particular peice? Its Mark Mothersbaugh, which was done in 2010 (not 2007) in collaboration with pressure printing. Don't know if Brad knows about this.

I wonder if the invitation's frame is all paper like the invitation itself or if it is also resin and gilded like the frame on Marion Peck's thin clown. i have seen a few listed for like $1000

Love that one Dan, I think you saw on there that i said it speaks to me so much. My latest purchase. Liz McGrath "Johnny Spanish" had to give up a VERY personal piece by Gidget Gein which i held dear to me but i knew it would also go to good hands.

wow amazing! as you know as a fan of your opaque watercolor works, they are hard to find and i so wish you would do more since there are not many fine artists using watercolor to paint so realistically.
If i had the money id buy this right off the bat!

This was a commission for Kelly Osbourne... Uhh...thats a painting from 1994 A quick Google has her being gifted this image from Ozzy and Sharon for xmas. But I highly doubt they were able to pry the OG from its owner - its more likely they were able to hunt down one of the few giclees that were printed by Blue at Art Works Fine Art Publishing before Mattel threatened copyright infringement. I have a copy (and a Princess Sputnik) printed by Blue - they are beautiful editions indeed. Jim yeah i mentioned that the owner whose name is listed in the wonder toonel catalog wouldnt do the same, on the Ryden facebook page. My comment was taken off immediatly, i guess he didnt want people to think it was the print Is anyone else excited for the upcoming show at Michael Kohn Gallery? It has been listed on his website for a while now but it seems like the date keeps getting pushed back though! Now listed as May 2012.Now it's listed as Summer 2012! hahaha. No matter how many times the date is pushed back, I am still excited to see a collection of new paintings in person. I read an article in los angeles magazine that the exibit will be called gay ninties west coast, though i could be wrong. I need to put my name on the waiting list pronto f[/sup]or my chance to finally and hopefully get an original. My marion peck peice is getting lonley

Got the email, and also love it but the only problem is I am saving up for an original so if i bought this, it would seriously hinder my chances.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking well, that's good for Taschen, wealthy book collectors and Ryden but what about the calfs? And the clams... 1k for a book 6k for a book and print is way way way overpriced however you try and paint it. I note that a lot of those book sets are not sold out, even for those artists much more established in the 'real' art world than ryden. well put Svenman

That print looks pretty nice. I'm glad for Ryden's success and appreciate his pricing toward the serious collector, but I'm disappointed to see the absurdity in the amount the proofs produced of it. Many of his collectors such as myself are serious collectors, ones who cannot make the list of his ever growing waiting list of originals at decent prices, who have to go third market to find originals that we dont know are real or not because its hard to get a hold of him. So making this a bit more acessible would be a bit more helpful for us. Though he is a very cool and down to earth person in person, and has helped out many of his fans, but this is a wee bit too much.

I think it's silly to sell a book for $1K. Limited edition of 1000 copies? Come on Mr Ryden, that's a million bucks for the run! It's a damn picture book man, granted it's got some nice pictures but your alienating your fan base. I think I'm not such a fan anymore. I was thinking the same thing. Plus I found out more about the art edition at the Taschn website. Its actually $6000 and the artwork is a blasted silk screen not an original way to over priced for what it is! www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/art/all/06345/facts.mark_ryden_pinxit_art_edition.htm really just really?! for $6k I can get a legit original Ryden off of ebay or even a small drawing at one of his shows or a down payment on one.

where did you get this one?! soo rare to find work by Ub Iwerks! I've had this in my collection for thirty years, nice images are tough to find. yes nice images are but even sub par truly orignal ones by Iwerks that are confirmed are even more harder. there was a very rare Iwerks orginal self portrit that was found in the trash at Disney once, it was saved and added to the animation archives in burbank.

Hi Russcel, Nice Shag pic there. I have yet to see them in person, but I bet they look great. We have similar problems, I have a 2 year old girl, so we hang things high --even if it doesn't make stylistic sense, just so she doesn't pull on them. Hi The Gorgon, I still find time to peek at my favorite pieces, especially when the kids are napping. I have a few friends that have baby girls, they're so much more calm and patient than boys. I'm trying to teach them to appreciate art, not to play with it. Take Care, Russ As a preschool teacher, (currently) teaching children ages 2-3, and a former nanny, and also an artist. i can say for a fact your children will indeed be appreciative of art . Great that your starting them so young. And from my own exprierences working with children so young, I agree highly that girls are much easier to work with than girls, yet it all depends . one thing is for sure at least at least they are somewhat interested in art, wheras as teens they might not be . Also, aside from the Ryden's i am quite envious of your Ub Iwerks peices! I hope to find a legit dealer of early Disneyana someday.
