Yup, that's the one from the Stages show. It's been interesting taking note of where pieces from that show have ended up. The Parla was just in auction, here's the KAWS, etc., etc.

Pretty sure that Kaws is from Lance Armstrong's collection, or at least was part of the Livestrong show a couple of years back. interestingly (or not), lance has a buyer/advisor that manages his collection for him.

I actually thought that I had managed to aquire that piece from the Stages show only to be told a few hours later that Lance had actually promised it to a close friend.

that must have hurt especially seeing it in a company reception now too.

Casey Wasserman of Wasserman Media is a long-time friend of Armstrong's so it makes perfect sense to see the piece where it ended up, especially given that Wasserman is a board member at LACMA and the Whitney.

As collectors we all have painful stories about the ones that got away. Hopefully you were able to acquire another Kaws piece just as nice.

I always thought that the Stages show was of Armstrong's personal collection but I guess not. Any idea what that Kaws cost back then? I'd be interested to know given how much prices have gone up in the last year alone

Is it just me, or is that Banksy CYW on page 4 horribly framed? Maybe it is the angle of the pics, but it looks very wavy to me. I'd hope for some more attention to detail than that.

I've got no problem w/ float mounting, it just looks like it wasn't floated properly to me. Seems to be bowed out in the middle on the sides, like it was floated improperly. Probably just me though.

The piece above is by Carlos Torres. He is one of the best Black & Grey tattoo dudes in the game, and an amazing fine artist

My friend's boss has an original/fine art Shep Obama portrait like the one in the Smithsonian but much bigger. He will not let me take a picture but I have seen it and it is, well, iconic.

What I find scary about Selim's collection is that he seems to buy everything! For example, the JR prints from Studio Cromie, he has one of each colour and they're just an edition of 10. You think these small editions are selling out, and assume they're popular amongst a wide range of people, and then you see this and realise it's one guy!!
