There are plenty of artists from whom you can buy inexpensive ($20-$50) prints (both limited and unlimited) – just not Kawasaki and Hultberg. If you're into any of the up-and-coming artists, you'll find prints that are affordable, and even some of the big names release inexpensive prints from time to time. I suppose that's what I meant - prints by artists like Kawasaki and Hultberg. I waited for the Amy Sol prints a few weeks back only to discover the one I wanted was 250$. I would have been satisfied with a 20$ poster! This said, thanks for the links. I only knew about half. Olivier

And even the 'bigger' names once sold prints for $25 or so... At least Stella did for a while. No less than a year ago (if memorie serves me right).

I'm thinking I just experienced my first earthquake (5.4). It woke me out of my sleep and lasted a good 20-30 seconds. The first thing I did was check all my artwork and everything thankfully stayed on the wall. So I'm glad I decided to double up on my hangers now. I'm just trying so hard to be like you guys in California. ;D

Could be worse a few weeks back we had a tornado in the middle of downtown Atlanta the same night of the College tourney and a Hawks game. But I guess earthquakes are worse.

Just got back from Art Chicago (huge art fair, 100's of galleries and artists, yada yada) I'm clearly too poor for this hobby (there was a Chagall I really wanted, but really I couldn't afford pretty much anything I liked)

oh wow... which chagall was it? the gallery actually had a couple, but the one I loved was this small blue background with a child hugging the head of a green horse and a red bird above them piece. I could completely imagine it in my place.

I'm thinking choosing shikishi boards for obtaining artist sketches was a great decision. They look wonderful framed!

>:(I'm thinking my UPS/Postman must hate me for all the packages I get. 2 prints ordered recently, 2 prints damaged . That'll be in the back of my head next time I think about buying something. I'm glad all my big ticket items have come by FedEx. I at least know him.

Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago. I was getting a lot of art shipped to me and over about two months, four pieces were damaged with knife stabs. Sometimes a single box might have 6 or 7 stabs, always with the same kind of knife blade. I'm certain it was postal delivery worker, but of course I could never get anyone to do anything about it.
At my other address, the mail person has a bad habit of throwing my packages down the stairs rather than carrying them down.
I don't ship art via the postal service anymore if I can help it.

It does help to know the postman as well, Patrick ( like you know him ) is wonderful, if the door person is not here he calls my cell phone to tell me there is a package becuase he knows I get art and does not want to leave it at the door. Many times I have met him two or three hours after delivery time on his route to get packages. at Xmas time a small tip or a nice gift goes a long way. Thank you patrick the mail man

my postman is an ass... give him a gift at xmas and not even a thank you... has made sarcastic comments about my shipments to other ppl that recieve the packages at the door... most times just leaves the "missed delivery" slip and leaves right away... u can be standing 10 feet away from the front door and still not catch him

I'm watching it, thank you. It's just soooo much money. For prints. I don't think I can do it. As in, ever. That's like 2-5 really nice originals.
