thing is fucking nuts in person. fran is a talented, humble, and massively underappreciated artist. as alluded to above, he paints barry's geometric panels and has a small show with a few old and a few new pieces next month. then in sept he's got a much larger solo in cologne, where he'll fill out two floors of gallery space. baffled how little people know about him, but that's due in a large part to him seeming contented over past couple years to assist mcgee first and foremost. he should begin to breakout here once he focuses on his own work more, gets more individual exposure, and people realize his skills. most exciting artist i've come across in a long time. will post up a proper interview eventually when we both have time.
oh and meant to say, the truly amazing piece above, into my woods, sold at the espo curated show last fall to a museum in italy. really regret not jumping on it prior to patricia getting it, as it simply was too costly to ship back to the states.

Epic,
Is that an OG, print or book? If book, you know now you'll have to get a painting. To match and all, you know...

Not so much mailbag as my anticipatory effort. I hear my Jinyoung Yu sculpture is arriving any day now. She's translucent and has flower socks and a little dog, which made me think it would be cool if she were standing on grass. So I envisioned a pedestal made from a lucite box I had made eons ago for an art class I was taking, and what it would look like if it had grass inside. Found this real looking artificial wheatgrass online and put it together with black sand. I'm the last person who's good at construction, but I was amazed at how perfectly this all came together exactly as I saw it in my mind. Now the sculpture just needs to get here... I've waited a whole year! Weezy Attachments:
