Saw his work for the first time in person this last weekend and thought it was exceptionally strong. While it seems his static portraits has been a focus for him until fairly recently, I quit like the snow and wall pieces he is doing. www.marianneboeskygallery.com/artists/kon-trubkovich/worksAny thoughts from others?

What were your thoughts on the body of work Will? Admittedly, I have only seen a few works of his.

Can't decide if I want to pull the trigger on a work or not.. Really like the work, just not 100% convinced yet!

It's a slick show and very well produced. You enter the gallery to a dark room with a video playing. To be fair, I did not give the video the time it needed to be understood. I still have this mental road block when it comes to video art. Anyway, you enter the main space of the gallery and there are meticulously painted video stills on the walls.
They remind me of the way the distorted Gerhard Richter photo realistic paintings are done.
I dont have some great conceptual review either, but it was enough for me to want to go home a read a bit about the artist when I have the time.

But not enough to necessarily buy then I guess?
Wish I could have seen the entire show rather than just a few prints.

I just went to enjoy the show. I can appreciate what I saw, but it's not something id live with.
