Thanks guys, will post pictures once they are here.
I believe the Simkins is 21" x25" framed, good size. I had my eyes on a piece from his current show with Lola, but this is one of my all time favorites from Greg, I feel very privileged to be having this one in my home.

Really nice Hem Origo! You have an uncanny habit of consistently purchasing great work by the artists I'm currently daydreaming about (granted that's a long list...I guess your odds are pretty good)!

I like this piece a lot. I saw it live a couple of times, and the digitals really don't do it justice at all. The overall palette is far warmer than one might might ever suppose from the digital, given the dominant lightness of the piece-- but even here look at all that pink, apricot and ochre in the white of the polar bear and the hat, not to mention the woman's face. Even the cool colors have a rich vibrancy-- the violet in the polar bear's muzzle and the turquoise and greens in the background white. The grays have a warm brown or violet undertone vs. blue/black. Notice that but for the subject matter that references ice and cold, nothing about this piece gives any inherent sense of cold, which is an interesting contrast. That warmth, combined with the soft edges, gives the piece a velvety quality with an almost suffusive or incandescent effect that provides a real sense of a beautiful bright morning or evening light playing on the subjects of the piece, although the light seems to be coming from multiple directions, so the subjects almost look as if they're lit for a portrait photograph-- maybe I'm overanalyzing and this is just reflective light off the ice and snow? Being face to face with a polar bear seems unlikely enough and the sanguineness of the woman is a non sequitur considering the danger. The staged quality of this, the seemingly curiously bemused bear, and the woman's relative size to the bear that limits the potential menace, creates an unlikely sense of comfort between woman and bear to foster a moment of Greenpeace-PETA-man-and-nature-in-harmony kumbayah (sp?). Here the cutesy-ness of the hat makes the bear just seem less threatening.I think it might have been a more interesting choice to highlight the tension of the predator-prey reality, but I don't feel like at any moment that bear could bite off her face or lick her, which also would make one think about a more stark incongruity between the danger posed and the ridiculousness of a grown woman wearing such a hat. I also appreciate that Frizzell lets you see his brush strokes, which makes me more aware of the thoughtful, painterly choices he's made in the work to appreciate them. One knows this is definitely a painting. I'm generally not so much of a fan of what Frizzell paints, but he sure can paint and create beautiful work to look at, and this is a great example of that talent. Great score on this one. I'm also a fan of Hem. Nice score on that, too. Weezy

Saw that piece in person as well and it was stunning. It may be my favorite piece from Nate.

Great collection Origo, That Wittfooth is amazing, by far one of his strongest paintings, a real jewel among some of his others imo. Keep going at this rate, and you will end up with a collection like Mark Parker's Thanks for sharing your collection. Cheers and Happy new year!

Some very nice additions. The matsu pieces and the fosik are especially great. Are the matsu pieces the same size?

Thanks, Josh! Agreed, Martin really nailed this one. His vision and execution is becoming stronger and stronger, think he has grown a lot over the past few years. Can not wait for his upcoming show at Corey Helford. Only thing my collection lacks is a piece by you. The Matsus are different sizes, Sven. The large one is 42 inches in diameter while the other is 30 as far as I remember. Thanks for the kind words guys.
