Yah, don't do it unless they are perfect for you. When it rains it pours... I keep seeing tattoos recently. Here are some Jled not colored yet but dead on.

Yeh see, I think Ledbetter, and few others lend themselves perfect to either being just black, or simple in color and shading.
Jeff Soto even Craola I would rather see all colorful and rendered.

j*ryu from the VR board - "This is just after the first session. I've gotta go back in a couple of weeks to add more shading and white ink to finish her up."

A friend of mine has this piece. Designed by PlaysKewl, who incidentally is currently training to become a tattooist.

I never really understood the logic behind getting an already existing piece of art tattooed on yourself. I have an entire back piece done by one of the best tattoo artists in the world. Every piece is an original idea that nobody else has or owns. Granted i understand that some people want to show their love and appreciation for their favorite artists, but i've always had the feeling that originality trumps everything else when it comes to tattoos.

Who is the tattoo artist? Do you images of it? I;m working on getting tattooed by Nikko Hurtado. An artist in Germany created a piece just for my tattoo. I agree with what you are saying. I want art on the walls to be different than on my skin, and vice versa.

He does Travis Barker, Carey Hart, Eminem, Dennis Rodman, the guys from Korn and a bunch of others. Here are some pics of my back piece in progress.

That's so sick! Steve I'm not even going to ask how much that set you back. lol...thanks mute. Yeh, it's up there. All i know is that it's been a long and very expensive process. But like i said, i love it. The piece deals with my heritage(greek) and my religious beliefs. Two things that will never grow old or change .

That is impressive - how long have you sat so far for that one? jIm thanks man. I honestly couldn't tell you. Lots of sessions, some long and some short. It's far from done. There are a lot of pieces that need to be filled in. For instance the cross of the Jesus resurrection on the top left. Also, the hands of the MichelAngelo Sistine Chapel piece on the top right. The girl in the middle still needs a lot of work as does the lower left greek soldier, right underneath the lady with the sword. He has to single needle the soldier's face because it's small. The only way to get sick with the detail on the smaller faces is with a single needle.

Tattoo art has always evoked a love/hate response with me. I hate most of what I've seen - 1 because they usually are poorly concieved and 2, incompetantly crafted. Every once in a while, you see one that you can tell was put together with meaningful heart and soul and crafted by a TRUE artist who just happens to use an ink gun and skin as his/her medium. Yours fits that bill on both accounts! Very nice... I have always wanted a tattoo - I just havent had that divine inspiration yet. I have access to a highly publicized tattoo artist that has a wait list a mile long - people would kill to go to the front of his line. All I have to do is make a call - I just want to pull the trigger when what I have concieved makes complete and total sense to me - like what you've done. Congrats! Update pics as you go forward.... jIm
