as the person who responds to audrey's emails, i just want to say we have no problem authenticating a piece of work, no matter how someone got a hold of it. while we don't condone flipping, we understand that due to the limited nature of audrey's work there will always be a second-hand market. if anyone has a question about whether something is real or not, seems like the best person to ask would be the artist, imo. thanks for posting. that's great to hear that you are so open. For people like me I'm always stuck on the secondary market so it's nice to hear. And definitely agree there's nothing second hand about her work. simply amazing.

Thanks Soma. As Kidrobot says, fans/collectors are often stuck in the secondary market when wanting to purchase items by popular artists.
It's good to hear this attitude as in the end it is benefiting both the artist and the fans of her work. We all appreciate it.

It's clearly a misunderstanding when you really take a look at what was said. The OP said that he was confused about the lack of number so he contacted Audrey and THEN Gary. Gary responds offering to replace the print. OP offhandedly mentions that he had contacted Audrey. Gary thinks OP contacted Audrey AFTER his offer to replace. Gary flips out.
Now the question is, why does it matter when the OP contacted Audrey? Or was Gary mad because he contacted her at all?

If you want to, the people over on KR are still beating this to death.

I never like the term "second hand" there is nothing second hand about Audrey's work! I usually just say "secondary market" haha! don't call it "used" either.
