Definitely an advertising campaign/viral marketing tactic. I'd say it's working, as we're discussing it here. The reason I don't think it's a Banksy is that the gorilla doesn't have that "Banksy stencil" feel. Simply looks like someone took an image in photoshop, played with the tones a bit and decided it was good enough. Weak execution. Unless Banksy is making it more "digital" on purpose to make it look like a viral campaign....

If you look at the emblem/stencil... it has alot of drip marks. Banksy has been stenciling for over a decade now... drips are a sign of a newbie. His works very clean when he pulls a hit on the street.

Where in LA can you see Banksy's work? I've seen the rat piece on melrose, as well as the caveman piece on beverly. Are there any other banksy pieces around LA?

this one was recently covered by the Valero station owner cause he doesn't want it vandalized, I think he is selling the wall of his gas station.

how did he cover it? park a big truck in front of the wall? Have not looked close but looks like plywood bolted over it. Other covered pieces have been vandalized by the splashers just by letting a gallon of paint drip down the wall above the covering!

Two works by Banksy, “No Ball Games” and “Go Flock Yourself,” will be auctioned off 2/26 Selfridges in London when they host the “Urban Art” auction in conjunction with Dreweatts.

It must be exciting to see a Banksy in person... especially a fresh one not soiled or altered.
Nice images Ian... your eye always captures such splendid pics.

Thanks Juggernut. Banksy always chooses great spots for his pieces so he's the one doing all the work for me.
