I think it's a very weak image although, from the bristol show, it's maybe one of those most suited to a print release.
Police like donuts.

Sorry to vent, but this new Robbo>Banksy piece just rubs me the wrong way. He (Robbo) got some great press on his first re-appropriation and it just seems as if it's gotten to his head. I'm no expert on UK graffiti history, but to imply that Robbo has more "street cred" than Banksy seems a bit much (?) Perhaps our UK forum members can shed some light on this for me? I know I've never heard of Robbo before this, not to dismiss his importance in the early years of UK graf, but would anyone really agree that he has more street cred?
On top of that (sorry to keep venting!) even though I think he did a great job (technically speaking) with the Banksy piece in the tunnel, his original tag had be covered up with 20 years of other writers! To make a statement now just seems like he's jumping on the media blitz to get back into the spotlight, which to some degree invalidates the statement he's trying to make.
Alright, vent over, sorry everyone!

Alright, vent over, sorry everyone! I don't live in the UK ,but i was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. From what i know, Robbo is an old school graffiti artist. I think what he's doing to banksy's pieces is garbage. IMO Robbo has absolutely no artistic skill, no message to convey, and no place even being mentioned in the same sentence as Banksy. Banksy has the ability to get a message across through his art. All Robbo does is shameless self promotion. Robbo is trying to use Banksy's fame to his own advantage. "Street Cred"....are you kidding me? Is Robbo implying that Banksy has no street cred? If so, he's sorely mistaken. Robbo, crawl back under the rock you came out from. Your work is garbage, truly nothing but letters with no message behind them except for your tag name. Banksy's work is beautfiul to look at, yours is an eye sore and reminds me of the alleyways of east LA.

I would really hate for this to get stupid. Robbos pride was hurt fine, his response was fairly clever, but if keeps going around defacing Banksy works it would just be ridiculous.

The fact is that the majority of graffiti out there is shameless self promotion. Banksy went over Robbo's piece which makes it fair game for Robbo to do the same. It's all part of the game even if Banksy's pieces are more popular.

i think people are looking into this too much.... part of the culture at least here in NYC is too add on to a thrown piece and make them better... If Robbo and Banksy were really having a spat they would either X it out, or cover the whole piece up....
My opinion I see this more of a bunch of artist having fun and working on a piece together and teasing or egging each other on no tupac biggie shit going down here.... no harm done carry on....
