This might be suitable for the kitchen sink but I wasn't sure. Invader might have some some competition in the near future. My daughter's first grade teacher had ordered Rubik’s Cubes for everyone in the class to use in math. The idea came from a friend and teacher in another school district. Rubik’s Cubes can be used for many different areas of math, including place value, money, geometry and problem solving. When the teacher ordered the cubes, there was a program to make a mosaic of one of six different famous people. They chose Abe Lincoln because most kids know who he is and Presidents’ Day was coming. All four classes of first graders were involved. There were 225 cubes to get into a certain pattern to be added to the mosaic. The project took about seven school days to get all of them solved. The kids were really excited about this. Once they got it all put together, they just couldn't believe it actually looked like something! Here's the finished artwork:

That came out really nice. Are they planning to permanently display it at the school?

Thanks, rhythmgtr5. They have a display wall that they share with other classes but it won't be up permanently.
