That 2nd cluster is incredible and possibly the first time we've seen something truly new from Barry in some years. Are they photographs or paintings?

it could be free hand. why not? this is what he does. yer seeing that its painted I guess they just took up some rulers and marker pens to sketch it out.

Very interesting in-depth analysis of Barry's work by Deitch:

that's a great little movie. eye candy for days. ugh....that black book with every page so good!!
i checked it out on you tube, and then saw in the margin a video on flea from the chili peppers. loved that he was wearing a neck face t-shirt. the flea video is about his silverlake conservatory of music. kinda touching. it's cool when artists give back.

really good read. thanks for posting. i particularly liked this quote from barry...
BM: It's a term I hear often... It scares the living daylights out of me. Street artists need to get back to actually doing things on the streets, instead of in the galleries where they all seem to be ending up. I hope this term street artist falls from the face of the earth, in my honest opinion. They are taking up precious space outdoors, which is normally reserved for tagging and thoughtless vandalism.

Can anyone ID this set on ebay? r.ebay.com/EvoiNNTried looking for more info online but can't seem to find anything. This is a 100% original Barry McGee painted bottle from a charity Auction in Yerba Buena. I bought it from the LA gallery 'Kantor LA' a few years ago who bought it themselves from the auction in the early 2000s. It comprises of:
1 x Handpainted bottle (still contains liquid! - water? vodka? i've never checked!) 1 x Handpainted box with screened design on front (pictured) - sined and numbered on reverse by Barry. Edition 6/20 1 x Handmade zine in hand stitched, screenprinted envelope. 1 x Print (Pictured. I can't work out if this is original or a screenprint of sorts and don't have further info) 1 x Small photograph, numbered on reverse. I'm assuming this was part of the auction to show authenticity of 6/20. 1 x Polythene bag which contains bottle. This has printed 'topper' with the letters THR on.
