Those are some sensational McGee's featured in that article. Exciting news for Barry. Well deserved.

An interesting choice of image for the announcement. Is this new imagery from Barry or just something from the archives that I haven't seen before...?

agreed, i know barry is trying to focus on his red and white line paintings at the moment but this is totally different and unlike anything i have seen before.

This particular image was used for the poster of their Movie Night during the Barry and Phil's mind the gap show at the gallery. but I believe originally he took the image from some potato carton box.

I'm really excited for the up and coming Barry McGee x California takeover this year. As much as I like the aesthetics of PRISM Gallery in LA ( the recent Os GĂȘmeos show looked amazing in that structure! ), I still can't help but think the Berkeley Show will be more to my liking. Maybe that has to do with the fact that when he shows in the Bay Area, it seems to hold more meaning ( being that McGee is a native ), but that's just my speculation.

Don't know whether or not the Matokie piece is for sell, I would imagine that it probably isn't. I think there's are 2 other Margaret pieces in the show. MLK Writing on the planter 'SARO'

His graffiti Handstyle Installations One of the best things to come out of the graffiti scene imo. True talent. Without McGee we wouldn't have Os Gemeos in their current form either.

Speaking of Barry's street work, I spotted some of his tags in Venice few days ago:
