Counterfeiting in Italy, EU and across the globe is a multi billion dollar business with international operations and various methods of illegally smuggling goods across borders. On the ground, selling fake designer products is an entry point for eastern european and african immigrants in the undeclared labor market of Rome and vendors can be seen displaying their wares in popular tourist spots throughout the city.
