Hi Guys, As some of you probably know, for the last three years I've run Dr. Sketchy's, an alternative drawing salon where artists (and art fans!) sketch gorgeous alt.models, compete in contests, and win booze and prizes. In February, we started doing ArtStar Sketchy's, where we pay tribute to some of our favorite artists. Our first one, on Valentines, featured Ron English, and got a great writeup in Arrested Motion.. At ArtStar Sketchy's, everything, from the music to the model to the set, is calibrated to pay tribute to our artstar. On May 9th, Saturday, 4-7 pm, we're having another ArtStar Sketchy's, this time with the breathtakingly talented David Stoupakis, and his stunning muse Aprella posing. David will be on hand to drink and draw with us, and sign merch. This is an amazing chance to hang with a brilliantly talented artist and draw his vision. David Stoupakis's work Aprella (photo by River Clark) I'd like to give away two free tickets to Artchival posters. All you have to do is post your favorite David Stoupakis painting in this thread. I'll be choosing two winners randomly on May 7th. This is for the New York City Dr. Sketchy's Dr. Sketchy's Artstar Series A Tribute to David Stoupakis Takes place on Saturday, May 9, 4-7 pm @ The Slipper Room 167 Orchard Street at Stanton Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door And are available from www.drsketchy.comThanks!

Hey guys, For pics, check out the lovely writeup Arrested Motion gave us. Aprella really went all out for this (that's not a wig, btw!), and even brought a Stoupakis original to stare disapprovingly at the scribbling art monkeys. You can see the whole writeup here, but this photo gives a taste... Paris and Berlin were so great! I was the only American in a show at Cabinet des Curieux in Paris, and got to spend quality time hanging out with European artists like Andy Julia and Zoe Lacchai that I've admired for years. It's also the first vacation I've been on in like 4 years!
