Amy Sol and Stella have posted sneak peeks on their blogs too - last year's show was killer and this one promises to be even better. Looking forward!

Kokeshis are made of wood, which doesn't melt. I believe he modified it with something like sculpey or paper clay.

That is Camilla D'errico's piece...but I kinda liked it big so that you can see the detail I am not sure if I dig somebody altering my posts..... I love that she is holding a watermellon

Ooh, now I kinda see it now. Didn't recognize it as her work at first.
I didn't alter your post but one of the other mods might have. But if your pic was too big it just makes it annoying when you click on "100 most recent posts" because then you have to scroll right for all of the posts to read everything and it doesn't fit on your screen.

Sorry evilchoy... that was me who reduced your image size. When you put a picture that is more than monitor-width up, it makes the text in every post in that thread go off the edge of the screen, so everyone has to scroll back and forth over the width of your image to read them. That wouldn't be a big problem if it was just the kokeshi thread, but it does the same thing to the "View last 100 posts" thread, so everyone who reads the forum that way – and there are a lot of us – has to scroll back and forth, back and forth, to read each line of text in the thread for several days, until your image falls off that thread. Didn't think you'd want to inconvenience us all that way, so I reduced your image size. Figured it was just an oversight on your part, didn't realize you wanted us to see the tiny details. Perhaps if the image was cropped a bit, both objectives could be achieved.

this is an interesting piece - i'm with hung-hei, i didn't recognize it as camilla's work.
as to altering posts, the mods do what we can to make sure the board is useful and helpful to all members, but i can see how unnerving it might be to have your posts changed unbeknownst to you. perhaps a post by the mod or a courtesy PM to advise of the changes would be helpful in the future.
back on the kokeshis - i've seen a couple of these that i think are interesting, but the proportions of these bothers me a bit. There may be a reason behind it, but i would have liked to have seen them use a wider base.
