Miss Kawasaki's piece for the show. Soooooo cool! Love it! Love it! Love it! Info below from Miss Kawasaki's blogTravis Louie (who always blows my mind with his crazy skills), has curated a group show "Monster?" at Copro Gallery this coming Saturday. i painted my version of a japanese folklore creature, Rokuro-kubi, who is a normal woman by day, but by night they gain the ability to elongate their necks (with or without choice). ( ...my creepy little piece... ) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rokurokubi"While You're Sleeping" 16"x16" oil and graphite on wood

Love the palette on that Dan May. Likewise. Love the monster too. It's like a hybrid of the monster Fred Savage befriends living under his bed in "Little Monsters" (but for the upside down horns alone) and something out of the greatest childrens book ever, Where the Wild Things Are (which I just yesterday finally saw a trailer for Spike Jonze's film iteration coming out in October...looks WAY better than I could've imagined, and I had VERY high hopes).

I loved that Kirk Reinert piece. I have never seen his art before, but I'll definitely be checking it out more in the future. I love the fact that group shows can introduce one to a wealth of new artists.

Kirk Reinert is an amazing painter he painted most of the great cover art for Clive Barker books in the late 1980's early 1990's He's exhibited at the Society of illustrators in NY, and galleries all over Japan. I couldn't imagine this show without him.
