This came up on another board, but it's an interesting question: do you track or catalogue your purchases in a formal way (beyond filing receipts)?

I'm going to photograph all of them and store them as a file on the computer. Then use that to get insurance after appraising them. But right now, they are all on flickr.

that's how i started. i've since built a database where i input all the essential data and photos. i get pretty crazy about organization so this was a nice solution ;D

I keep a .txt file of what I'm waiting for and upcoming stuff. Most of my things I have pictures of.
