Those images of the black actually look pretty nice...way nicer than the chrome. But still don't think I've been won over. It is reassuring though that the black version is presented without the base, as I would've had no part in this if that circular disc couldn't be removed. Ultimately, it's still def way more of a Sorayama piece than it is KAWS, ala KAWS x PUSHEAD Companion. In that sense, much like the PUSHEAD, I could take it or leave it. Would love to see one in person, though.
Still hoping he does something fresh and amazing in vinyl form before the year end for this, the 10 year anniversary of the 99 Companion. What exactly would the 10YL Companion look like, I wonder?!?

I don't personally see anything to indicate such. I doubt KAWS would substitute a collaboration for such a seminal anniversary and hope he would do something entirely his own to commemorate things. But I suppose only time will tell. Here's hoping he has something special up his sleeve. |

A beautiful piece. Tempted to get the black finish one over the silver. Prices between $1000 - $1400. SDCC is coming up fast, so not sure whether to drop bank for it considering I have been saving well for the con. Sigh lol.
