Does anyone know more about KAWS's 4ft Black Companion?
- Is it a limited edition, and if so, how many? (I called Original Fake, and they told me they don't disclose that information.)
- What's a fair price for it? (List is 360,000 yen, which translates to roughly $4,000, though I doubt you'll be able to find them for that.)
- Are there U.S.-based dealers/stores where it'll be available?

Definitely limited edition. 100, probably less. No chance of getting it for $4,000. I think the first colorway was released on KAWSone.com, and that was more than $4k. Price will probably be closer to $8k.

I bit the bullet and got one, it's been a long time coming and a felt a big gulp when I pressed the process order button but it's done now. My first big art purchase of 2010.

I bit the bullet and got one, it's been a long time coming and a felt a big gulp when I pressed the process order button but it's done now. My first big art purchase of 2010. I did as well. Always wanted one for the house and figured this is the last one. Guess that takes care of a big chunk of the art budget for 2010. However, no confirmation email yet... |

Makes me nervous, I live in NY where they were being shipped from and still have not received anything, I've also written them twice now in regards to getting the tracking number they promised as I am not at home a lot when such deliveries would be made and need to plan ahead. In the past I have always had nothing but good experiences with the service so this has completely thrown me off guard, if it doesn’t arrive today I'm going to come up with a plan B since the good folks at Kawsone.com won’t respond to my emails, sucks really.

you would call your credit card company and have them reverse the charge. then you fill out a bunch of paperwork.

Yeah I don't think it's been stolen as I took the day off of work thinking it would come in yesterday and my girlfriend has been at home at any time I couldn't be but it's getting a bit silly having to stay at home hours on end not knowing if it will even be delivered that day. Furthermore when I purchased the piece there was a notice that someone MUST be there for delivery or else I would have to pay for the delivery service again as www.Kawsone would not be responsible. The thing is they promised a tracking number so I don't feel I should have to pay for delivery again if they attempt a delivery and I am not home having not been provided with said tracking info. |

I don't if they use the same delivery service for everyone but I asked the guy who delievered to me what if I wasn't home. He said he would leave a note and try again the next day. However, another friend in NY said they just left it outside the door even though he wasn't home! And, the box says very clearly on the outside KAWS 4 footer, etc....

I live in NYC, and mine came by Fed Ex about a week ago. I didn't get a tracking number, so wasn't home at the time. Fed Ex left it at my door, even though it said "direct signature" on the shipping invoice.

Sounds like mine is lost at sea, I hope they can make up for this as it seems something went wrong in my case, i wish someone at kawsone would write me back already, I think a weeks time is plenty to gwet back to someone when its stated it takes 24 - 48 hours to get a response. Thanks to everyone for the bits and bobs of info, most certainly helps.
