Yea, if the packaging was unique or had some other hand finishing would be a great way to justify it. I was really hoping for something 1500 - 2000 you don't think even that price is insane meatbag? seriously though, 3k?

Might get to see this tomorrow on a quick day trip up to the city, but might be too pressed for time. Here's a new interview too.. tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/06/07/the-kaws-effect/As an interesting aside, caught Paris Hilton was on Kimmel tonight after the game. She mentioned that she interviewed Lil Wayne for Interview Magazine because they allow their interviewees choose who interviews them. I have to assume Brian didn't personally select Toby Maguire for his interview with the magazine. It was a bad enough interview as is, but that would just be weird to me. Perhaps he's a huge fan of the Spiderman flicks?!?!

KAWS seems to have very dedicated collectors. It's no wonder his work is so hard to come by.

Money not being an issue, not how I would have collected Kaws. Maybe he is hiding the good stuff. For the amount of game he talks, I hope so.
Let's be serious, if you were going to aim to collect an artist with the depth and intensity this collector claims to have done wouldn't you have exemplary examples of works from each period of the artists career? I see a bunch of shwagg (albeit a complete bunch of shwagg) and a couple of ok paintings. Come on dude, lets see the good shit.

I love that Captain Morgan ad disruption and it looks like a couple nice product paintings back there, but this isn't what I expected from the #1 KAWS collector. I was thinking there'd be some stuff along the lines of Pharell's epic Family Guy and Kurf paintings. Maybe he's saving the best fine art for last...
