What did you buy that you now regret? What did you not buy that makes you want to put a shotgun in your mouth?

I haven't had too many buying regrets... although I regret buying two Blaine Fontana fankits. It took almost a year to get them, and he comletely changed the style he used for the OG pieces during that time. They're ok, but I was no longer really into them by the time they showed up.
Not buying regrets are plenty... really cheap ($400) Stella pieces at thinkspace, that first Amy Sol Copro show, a Soto piece I'm now trying to find out if it's still available, a Glenn Barr and a Mars-1 pieces from MModern, an amazing Craola that I was in love with but felt too scared to spend that much on (now would be a steal), um... that's just off the top of my head. The Craola is the biggest regret of the bunch though.

my kelsey brookes prints... before they came in, I took a look at his artwork in the flesh, and they were very underwhelming

When i first started collectig Audrey Kawasaki prints she wasnt well known at all. Her prints used to stay up for sale on her website for months. I used to order direct from Audrey all the time and had the chance to buy 10 prints of each (i am not exagerating). Imagine if i would have done that and consider that their value is between 6-10 higher now.

I regret not buying Greg Simkins a year and a half ago when I thought he was expensive then.

I regret spending so much time trying to find good art on eBay instead of stepping up a few levels, walking into a lowbrow gallery and buying a painting. In my defense, at the time I didn't even really know that the type of art we're discussing existed... I'd been to La Luz de Jesus shows many times, and nothing had ever clicked for me. I think this whole genre has taken a shift for the better in the past few years, allowing a lot more diverse points of view into the scene.

I regret not buying "Bouya" from the Smitten show when it sat there for a week. Just couldn't bring myself to buy an Audrey "boy" painting. Now it seems like a steal.

At that time Audrey was really new to me and I was barely dipping my toe into low brow art. A painful lesson I hope to not repeat again.

I regret not buying another Audrey piece that was available during smitten show, not buying some Luke Chueh's monkey with hats pieces when they were $85, not buying some Brendan Monroe pieces from Richard Heller several years ago including a sculpture...

I regret not buying an Audrey Kawasaki painting when a collector offered it to me for US$3K early last year. I thought "Are you crazy?" I regret not getting into Faile earlier. I saw those prints on their site and thought that no one will buy them anyway. I needed to save up for a Kawasaki I regret not picking up a Nick Walker when I had the chance. I thought that his OGs will hang around his site when I was chasing the Failes FYI, I still have no Kawasaki OG or Nick Walker anything and have to pay an arm for a Faile print
